It is very important to supply as much information as possible in your email about the books including title, publisher, and date. Digital photos of the binding and title page are extremely helpful to make an accurate evaluation.
The value of a book is determined by many factors including rarity, importance, completeness, provenance, condition, and distinguishing features such as signatures or annotations etc. Perhaps the most important is the end customer. The right collector will naturally pay more for the right book and that is often where a dealer can provide much more added value than a mere auction house.
We will do our best to provide free evaluations of books based upon the American auction records (ABPC- American Book Prices Current). Even rare books tend to have previous auction records and comparable records often are a very good indicator of current value and what you can expect a dealer to pay for your rare books.
